What are BCCAs?
BCAA stands for “branched-chain amino acid“. There are three specific essential amino acids: Leucine, Isoleucine & Valine.
Essential amino acids cannot be produced by the body, that is why we need to take nutritional supplements.
Most amino acids first need to be processed by the liver to then be transported to our muscles through the bloodstream. BCAAs, however, can be directly absorbed by our muscles and are converted directly into energy by our bodies.
How do BCAAs work?
BCAAs help build and maintain muscle, but also prevent muscle loss. They are not just used for competitive athletes and body builders, but for anyone who is active or works out.
